Thanks to a kind family, three adorable kittens were given a second chance at life, and now they play and frolic with boundless happiness.
Laura Malone, who directs Mini Cat Town, a rescue organization in San Jose, California, received a message about four kittens in need of help. After taking them in, she found out that one of the kittens had tragically passed away from panleukopenia, a viral illness caused by feline parvovirus. “We quickly started treatment to prevent Ben, Cassandra, and Wayne (the surviving kittens) from falling ill,” Laura told Love Meow.
Cassandra the kitty’s owner, Laura Malone, shared her experience dealing with the highly contagious panleukopenia virus among her feline companions. The stress of knowing they were at risk kept her on her toes, monitoring their well-being daily with a keen eye on their weight and appetite. Each day, she approached the room with bated breath, relieved to see her trio of cats greeting her. Despite the uncertainty, Laura remained hopeful and did her best to provide a clean and safe environment for her furry friends.
Laura Malone, Ben, and Wayne were always on kitten duty, checking in on them every four hours, administering medication twice daily, and making sure they were fed and weighed daily to track their progress. Despite the late night wake-up calls to tend to their needs, Laura remained committed to their care, taking it day by day until the kittens were safely out of the woods.
Laura Malone and her family breathed a sigh of relief as they reached the two-week mark with the kittens. After struggling with their weights and appetite, the kittens emerged victorious, defying the odds. Laura shared with Love Meow that miraculously, none of the kittens displayed any signs of illness.
Ben and Cassandra, the brother and sister feline duo, were finally declared healthy after weeks of dedicated care. They were now eager to explore their surroundings, showcasing their impressive jumping skills around the house.
“They’re such incredible jumpers! Despite their small size, they can easily leap onto my countertops. They’re always getting into mischief, exploring every nook and cranny.”
Wayne was the pioneer kitten to leap onto the counter, leading the way for the rest of the trio. This trio of kittens has become full of energy and curiosity, constantly searching every corner they can find and even climbing onto their foster mom’s shoulders for some added fun. You can witness the adorable antics of these kittens in a video capturing their journey while being fostered. According to their foster mom, all three kittens enjoy perching on her shoulders, with Cassie having a particular fondness for nibbling on her ears.

They’re unstoppable once they’re up on their feet again, eager to conquer the world. They can’t wait to make friends with other foster kittens and teach them everything they know.
Cassandra loves to have fun and cause a bit of trouble, according to Laura Malone. The threesome love exploring new places as a group, with their latest discovery being the window and the endless entertainment it provides for their cat. “I’m thrilled to see how much they’ve grown! It’s such a weight off my shoulders knowing that they’re doing so well.”
Laura Malone shared with Love Meow that Wayne, who used to be fed from a bottle until recently, has now graduated to eating gruel from a bowl. Among the litter, Cassie and Ben stand out as the most energetic and playful, while Wayne is a bit more affectionate. Despite his cuddly nature, Wayne loves to roam around and was the first to boldly jump onto the counter.
The oversized paws of Laura Malone’s two cat siblings have captured the hearts of many. They are on a mission to outwit their owners, outplay other kittens, and make the most of every single day.
