They took a chance on a young cat from the streets—once a forgotten kitten, now she gets everything her way.

A tiny tuxedo kitten had wandered the streets for as long as she could remember. She darted through traffic, hid under cars, and vanished into the shadows whenever someone got too close.
At just two months old, she had already lived the hard life of a street cat, scavenging for scraps and relying on her instincts to survive. But one day, her luck changed when a kind-hearted person spotted her and simply couldn’t walk away.
As it turned out, that person was a volunteer with Little Wanderers NYC, a rescue group dedicated to saving the city’s most vulnerable cats.

When help arrived, the little tuxedo was terrified. She bolted toward a parked car for cover, her wide eyes scanning for a way out. With patience, a humane trap, and the lure of a hearty meal, she was finally safe and warm within the hour.
They named her Tuxie. Though shy at first, she began to trust, realizing she no longer had to hide.

As her confidence grew, so did her need for affection. Tuxie began approaching her foster mom with curiosity, eventually climbing onto her lap as if it was where she’d always belonged. That cozy lap quickly became her favorite place in the world.
Her foster mom affectionately called her Floppy for her “hilariously clumsy charm.”

Tuxie loved nothing more than to flop onto her foster mom’s lap, roll onto her back, and offer up her belly for rubs. She was a perfect storm of energy and affection—one moment zooming around the room chasing invisible foes, the next curling up for a cuddle.
“She has blossomed into the perfect mix of chaos and cuddles,” Little Wanderers NYC shared.

The moment Tuxie realized she was safe, she rested her tiny paws on her human’s hands, her purrs rumbling like a little engine. Nestled in her foster mom’s lap, she felt as though all was right in the world.
With good food, proper care, and an abundance of love, Tuxie’s true personality began to shine.

Today, Tuxie is a fearless and playful young cat who loves riding on her foster mom’s shoulder, surveying the house like a queen overseeing her kingdom. She wants to know everything going on in the house, and nothing escapes her watchful gaze.
“She’s curious and totally food-obsessed. Nothing edible is safe when she’s around.”

At five months old, Tuxie fills the home with boundless joy and energy. When she’s not scaling cat trees or chasing wand toys, she’s curled up on a lap, purring like she’s known love all her life.
She’s also perfected the art of “warming” her foster mom’s chair the second it’s vacated, because every queen deserves her throne.

This little tuxedo thrives on love, friendship, and adventure. After surviving her first two months on the streets, she’s now living the best life indoors, with plenty of toys, cuddles, and all the food she could ever want.
She’s no longer a forgotten kitten. She’s cherished, loved, and she knows it.
