They heard the sound of a cat in the drive-through and found a little one in the lane. From that day on, her life was forever changed.

As Cindy stepped out of her office, Judy, a teller from the nearby bank, hurried over to her and said there was a situation outside.
While assisting a customer at the drive-through, Judy heard the faint cries of a cat but couldn’t pinpoint where they were coming from. As the customer drove off, a little stray (Penny) suddenly appeared right before her eyes.
“I follow Judy outside. Penny was crouched in the middle of the drive-through lane, and she let Judy pick her up,” Cindy shared with Love Meow.

The kitten had most likely come out from the engine compartment of a customer’s car. Though unharmed, she was hungry and in need of a safe home. Cindy immediately stepped up, offering to take her and contacting Sparkle Cat Rescue for support.
Penny (aka Moneypenny) was understandably rattled after hitching a ride and being “dropped off” in the drive-through.
She quickly settled into her foster home Sparkle Cat Rescue
“She was in a bit of shock at first, but she warmed up quickly. It took her a few days before she started purring and realized that she liked to be rubbed.”
At just one pound and four ounces, Penny had much growing to do and many feline skills to learn. Brimming with newfound confidence, she explored her surroundings, inspecting every corner before curling up in a cozy jacket for a snooze.

She made herself right at home wherever she graced, and her larger-than-life personality shone through.
“She is very friendly, even with new people. She hopped right into my daughter’s lap the first day she met her. She’s curious and frisky and does the cutest bunny hops when she’s playing.”

“She’s interested in my older cats, but they are not sure about her yet.” But the little newcomer is persistent, determined to win them over and join the feline crew on their adventures someday.
“She loves to rabbit-kick the catnip mice and toys, but nothing beats chasing a shoestring.”

In less than two weeks, Penny has blossomed, gaining weight and strength. Gone are the days of wandering the streets or seeking warmth in a car; now, she’s shining like a bright star in her foster home.
With her curiosity in full swing, Penny leaps onto the couch to survey the living room, always eager to greet anyone who walks through the door.

Cindy had been taking a break from fostering, but the moment she saw the kitten in need, she couldn’t say no.
Now, Penny is bursting with energy, zipping around the house like she owns it. She revels in her new life as an indoor cat, with boundless food, a treasure trove of toys, and the loving attention of her devoted humans.

While her past before the drive-through remains a mystery, one thing is certain: Penny is now safe, thriving, and has a bright future ahead.
