Hello, and happy Monday! Today is a super spectacular special day here at the White House. Do you know why? It’s my gotcha day! And it’s my 12th gotcha day, to be exact.
Twelve years ago I became one of the luckiest kitties in the world when I was adopted by Mommy and Lexy. I became a princess and my life has been out of this world ever since!
People who saw me in the shelter probably never thought I’d be a published author, advocat for rescue and animal rights, and social media maven! But I believed in myself and I knew I was destined to be more than a “dumpster cat.”
I’ve spent the last twelve years doing my best to help cats avoid what I went through, and also what Lexy went through. Lexy is my right-paw cat, and I couldn’t have done this work without her.
For my new friends, I will briefly tell you my backstory. In December 2010 I was found in a dumpster in East Harlem in New York City. Some nice people found me and took me out, and I ended up in the city shelter. I got very sick there, and I almost died. But the universe brought me a fairy godmother who saw me and didn’t rest until the shelter let her pull me out. I was brought to a cat hospital and my journey to health started. Mommy came to meet me on January 9, 2011 and fell in love with me. One week later she picked me up to go home and the rest is history!
I have been grateful every day for my wonderful life. That’s why on my gotcha day I like to raise money for a rescue. This year I’m raising money for Abandoned Angels Cat Rescue. AACR is a small rescue in Columbus, OH run by one woman, Miss Lynda. She does so much for cats, and we are always happy to help her in any way we can.
So, for every comment we receive on this post we are donating $1 to AACR. So make sure you leave your comment below!
I’ve had the best life these past twelve years, and it’s my wish that every cat has the same. Thank you to all of our friends who have been on my journey with me. Here’s to twelve more years!
