Goldie the cat mom and her babies were discovered by a kind stranger who was cleaning out a vacant home in Indiana. Lori White, a volunteer at ARPO, was contacted to help rescue the feline family. The mother cat and her four kittens were found in a laundry basket, without any food or water in sight. It was a heartbreaking scene, as the house was locked up and no one knows how long the poor cats had been abandoned there. Lori shared this touching story with Love Meow, showing the heartwarming efforts of rescuers to save these helpless animals.

Discovered in a laundry basket with her four kittens in the basement of an abandoned house, Lori White knew right away that they needed assistance. Without hesitation, she gathered them up and brought them to a safe place where the mother cat could nourish and care for her babies until a rescue could be found to take them in.

The tabby feline was emaciated and starved, but grateful to finally have a meal and a comfortable spot to rest. She eagerly devoured everything in sight, then carefully inspected her new surroundings before settling down to tend to her rambunctious offspring.

Her kittens were all thriving, well-groomed, and in excellent health, a clear indication of the loving care their mother provided. When the person who found them contacted the nearby shelter, ARPO quickly came to their aid.
“I am grateful that she made the effort to ensure their safety,” Lori shared with Love Meow after Goldie entrusted her kittens to her care.

Lori had an exciting surprise when she found out that all four kittens born to Goldie the cat were orange tabby girls. She was inspired to name them Rose, Sophia, Dorothy, Blanche, and of course, Goldie (the mama) after the iconic Golden Girls. Lori explained that it’s uncommon for ginger cats to be female, with only about 20% being girls, so having four ginger girls was truly special. She couldn’t resist the Golden Girls theme, so now they have Momma Goldie Girl and her own Golden Girls.

Even though Mama Goldie doesn’t have a microchip and no one has shown up to reclaim her, she’s doing well with her family of five. They are flourishing and won’t ever have to stress about their next meal.

The quadruplets are an energetic and mischievous lot, always eager to get into some kind of trouble. Dorothy is usually the first one to approach her human family members looking for some cuddles.

Despite being five weeks old, the kittens continue to nurse from their mother whenever they get the chance. “Goldie makes sure to keep them clean, and they all have the most adorable chubby bellies.”
The loving mother cat is grateful to have a warm and safe home, with caring people to assist in looking after her precious litter of four.
