A cat, true to his name, has been doing everything he can to get noticed after spending nine months in the shelter.

Biggie, a white-and-tabby cat, arrived at Clifton Animal Shelter when his owner fell ill and could no longer care for him. Barely a year old, Biggie came with a big heart and an even bigger appetite.
The shelter environment was overwhelming at first. The noise, the unfamiliar smells, and the confinement of a cage made him nervous. But with patience and love, the staff and volunteers quickly learned the way to his heart: food.
Little by little, Biggie found his courage. As he ventured out of his cage, his eyes brightened, and his true personality began to shine through.

Despite his size, Biggie is still very much a kitten at heart. He loves chasing wand toys, leaping over furniture, and pouncing with all the enthusiasm of a playful kitten.
After a round of zoomies, he transforms into quite the love bug. Whenever Liz, one of the shelter staff, comes by, he eagerly waits to be scooped up in her arms.

“This is the real Biggie,” Liz explained. “Sometimes he doesn’t show well because he gets spooked, but he’s incredibly food motivated, and will be your friend with food. I open the cage every day, and he jumps out into my arms. That’s all he wants.”
Once he’s out and about, Biggie soaks up every bit of attention and enjoys the freedom to roam.

Biggie may be “big” in name, but his personality is even larger. He’s playful, mischievous, and endlessly entertaining. One moment, he’s racing around like a little tiger; the next, he’s flopped on the floor demanding belly rubs.
He’s a cat who looks you straight in the eye, especially if you’re holding a treat bag or opening a can of food.

“When Biggie first arrived at the shelter, the world felt a little overwhelming. He was scared and unsure, but with time, patience, and love, he started to realize that people aren’t so scary after all.”

Once he trusts you, his sweet and endearing side comes to light.
“With his expressive face and curious eyes, he’s the kind of cat who makes you smile without even trying. If you have treats or chicken? You’ve got a fast track to his heart. He loves them and will do just about anything for a bite.”

Biggie has found creative ways to keep busy at the shelter. He’s taken on “clerical duties,” diligently supervising paperwork, reviewing files, and patrolling snack supplies.
“He’s got it covered,” the staff joked. “He’s been patiently waiting for someone to notice that he’s not just a cute face. He’s also a hardworking office assistant (who occasionally naps on the job).”

Though Biggie may look like a tough guy on the outside, he’s really all softness inside.
“He’s full of life but also has a calm side. It’s clear that Biggie will thrive in a home where he can be part of the action and get plenty of love.”

Biggie has been waiting for someone to notice him since December. Day after day, he shows just how much love he has to give—all he needs is someone willing to give him a chance.
