Feline Bounces into Rescuers’ Arms with Joy and Gratitude

Cat Walks Up to Rescuers Like a Little Kangaroo and is so Happy to Get Help...

Introducing Roo the cat, a ginger feline discovered strolling on her hind legs in a cat community. Despite having two curved front legs, nothing stops this determined kitty from strutting along.

Courtesy of Kim Womack, Roo is a unique kitty from a cat colony who captured the hearts of rescuers. She stands out due to her bent front legs, which give her a distinctive kangaroo-like walk. Caregivers have provided shelter, food, and water for the cats and visit them regularly. Plans are in place to ensure these kitties receive the necessary medical attention and are placed in foster care.

While the kitties may be a little shy, they are also very friendly. Kim Womack shared that Roo has a fluffy companion named Marigold (Marty), with whom she seems to share a special bond. The caregivers are looking forward to bringing Marty into their care, as he is always seen by Roo’s side.

According to Kim Womack, X-rays revealed that Roo has a congenital deformity in her front legs. The right leg is missing the radius bone, and the left leg has a severely bent and thick ulna bone. Despite these challenges, Roo manages to walk and run on her legs, although they are too short and give her a kangaroo-like sitting position. Roo mainly relies on her hind legs to move around and is coping well despite her deformity.

According to Kim Womack, the adorable redhead is believed to be approximately two years old. Although she may be on the petite side, she is full of joy and basking in the affection she’s receiving. “She’s got a great appetite and is super playful.”
Thanks to the efforts of Zeus and the Kitty Cats rescue group in Elmer, NJ, Roo was successfully taken from the colony and placed in a temporary foster home. The team is currently focused on capturing all the cats from the group so they can be properly rehomed.

Kim Womack reports that the little ginger girl is on the mend and is incredibly affectionate. Roo eagerly devours her meals upon sight, but with time and reassurance that food will always be available, she will eventually learn to eat at a more leisurely pace without concerns of going hungry.

Kim Womack reports that Roo is doing very well in her foster home and will remain an indoor cat for the long term.
